Breeds in Biomutant form the basis for the player character's genetic structure, determining their overall look. Each breed starts with different values for secondary Stats such as Health, Melee Damage, Ki Energy and Regen. These can be influenced by your Attributes.
Best Biomutant Breeds
This Best Biomutant Breeds Guide gives you an overview of player-selected breeds that perform best when paired with Classes to create unique Builds. You can pick from any of the six breeds available, they each have their strengths and weaknesses, so an easy comparison is provided below.
- Murgel - balanced stats and bargaining loot perks
- Primal - an agile breed optimal for Dead Eye builds
- Hyla - a tanky breed with lots of Health and Armor
- Dumdon - a physical DPS breed good for Mercenaries
- Fip - an intellectual breed for "glass cannon" builds
- Rex - a balanced breed that can pair with any class
After picking your breed, you will also have to select Mutations such as Biogenetics, Psi-Powers and Upgrade Resistance. Your resistances will be based off: Heat, Radioactivity, Cold, and Biohazard. The most common biome is Biohazard - so you will likely select that one.

Biomutant Breeds Guide: How to Pick the Best Breed for Each Class
The Best Biomutant Breeds for Each Class: There are six Breeds to choose from, and your breed selection is final and cannot be changed. You will, however, be able to change your character stats and adapt them to your gameplay as you level up. Changing your stats will create physically visible alterations to the Protagonist's appearance. For example, a character with high Strength may appear to have much larger, more muscular arms while a large amount of points in Intelligence could result in a massive, disproportionate head.
Primal
Primal is a nimble developed anthropomorphic breed. A hybrid with a gene mutation making them nimble and dexterous at the cost of a lesser developed intellect.
The Primal breed is recommended for the following Classes:

Dumdon
Dumdom is the least developed anthropomorphic breed. A hybrid off-shoot that compensate lack of mental prowess with physical strength.

Rex
Rex is an extraordinarily developed anthropomorphic breed. A hybrid outcast with an even DNA string making it apt for both physical and mental challenges.
The Rex is a well-balanced breed that starts off with decent Stats across the board, only trading higher Health with a slightly lower Melee Damage output. They are well-suited for new players and perform well with any of the Classes.

Hyla
Hyla is a regenerative developed anthropomorphic breed. A hybrid with a gene mutation making them extremely tough and resistant.

Fip
The Fip breed is renowned for a highly evolved mind. Its genius is directly interlinked to the power of Ki which amplifies their Psionic output.
The Fip possesses the highest starting Power, Ki Energy and Energy Regen, making them the ideal candidate for Psionic builds and the Psi-Freak class. However, they are also more fragile than the other breeds and should focus on defensive equipment and ranged combat.

Murgel
Murgel is the definition of an idealized breed. Its evolutionary lineage has gone in a direction where form and appearance has dominated over function.
The Murgel breed possesses average stats across the board. What sets them apart is their high proficiency for Barter, giving them an advantage in trading situations. They also possess a slight boost to Loot Chance making them ideal for players who like to treasure hunt and hoard items.

Anonymous
The Murgel also gets a bonus to Crit Chance, the same as the Primal. With the increased loot chance helping get better gear, I’d say they are WAY better than they get credit for.
