Biomutant is an upcoming action-adventure RPG developed by the Swedish game studio Experiment 101, and published by THQ Nordic. Set in a new age where the world's fate is upheld by an enormous Tree of Life, players assume the form of a combative, mutant critter, tasked with the mission to save the divine tree from harmful contaminants and giant, evil creatures. In a time where all lifeforms have segregated into different Tribes, players must create their own ultimate martial-artist mammalian, and restore unity amongst the realm. Created with a team led by game veteran and former art director of Avalanche Studios, Stefan Ljungvist, Biomutant offers unparalleled character creation and customizable combat elements, while taking inspiration from masterpieces such as Devil May Cry, Ratchet and Clank, and even the movie: Kung-fu Panda.
Biomutant Story Overview
In an era where the world is heavily plagued by poisonous oil overflowing from the ground, the Tree of Life and its 5 Roots through which the world has been kept alive, is heavily damaged by pollution. To make matters worse, at the end of each Root, a hungry, brutal creature is gnawing into the bark and consuming the tree's vitality. On the other hand, all lifeforms in the Biomutant realm has also split into 6 different Tribes, otherwise known as Factions; while 3 of them are determined to save the great tree from its rapid demise, the other 3 are turning a blind eye to the world's impending doom. It is up to the player to create their own ultimate mammalian champion, and venture through the narrative that would best alter the world's fate.
