Tribes in Biomutant refer to the factions that inhabit the New World, having split off from their original enclave. Tribes play an integral role in the player's progression, tying to the choices they make and affecting the world around them. There are six Tribes, each controlling their own territories and Outposts. The player can ally themselves with any of these Tribes, gaining favor with them and taking charge of their destinies.

Tribe Aura:

The tribes you can join can be oriented towards Light Aura or Dark Aura. There are three Light Aura Tribes that seek the survival and preservation of the Tree of Life. On the other hand, you can choose to join one of the three Dark Aura Tribes who believe in the need for destruction to give life to a new life.

Allying yourself with one Tribe does not lock you into a particular path, and you can change your allegiances at any time.

Joining a Tribe

To join a Tribe, you must speak to a Tribe Sifu  These are the leaders of each Tribe and each of them will tell you what their Tribe believes in, then you can choose to join them or become their rival.

Outposts:

Each Tribe is led by a Tribe Master who is a senior figure amongst the tribesmen.

Tribes control several Outposts in the New World. Conquering these Outposts for your chosen tribe will gain you favor with them, unlocking several benefits. The player will eventually become the Champion of the Tribe they've allied with, receiving their special weapon and learning their unique Combat Style, as well as gaining access to special shops in their Outposts.

Conquering all three of a Tribe's Outposts will allow you to assault their Stronghold and decide the fate of their Master.
